Argentine Diego Viganó hopped across the river to invest in Carmelo in Uruguay and establish Campotinto winery in 2013. 

A fifth generation grower, Fabiana Bracco made the leap to become the first vintner of her family when she launched Bracco Bosca winery in 2005.

Uruguay may be a small nation, but it has a remarkable history of beating the odds and it made a champion of the unlikely variety of Tannat.
