Uruguay Wine
Uruguay on the airwaves
You can now learn about Uruguayan wine while on the move listening the new podcast series made in collaboration with Interpreting Wine.
The two part series was recorded in London with several of our Uruguayan winemakers as well as sharing the impressions of famous wine journalists and flying winemakers to offer a great insight into the world of Uruguayan wine.
The first of the two episodes focused on the experiences of three renowned flying winemakers — based on interviews with Paul Hobbs, Duncan Killiner and Hans Vanding Diers, who have all been instrumental in developing the Uruguayan wine scene over the last couple of decades. They share fascinating insights into how Uruguayan wine has evolved, why they enjoy working in Uruguay today and share the great potential of Uruguay in the future.
The second of the series focuses on interviews with some of our winemakers and wine families, recorded by podcast publisher Lawrence Francis earlier this year while attending the largest tasting of Uruguayan wine ever held in the UK. Featured in this episode are Santiago Degásperi, Fabiana Bracco, Daniel Pisano, Gerardo Michelini and Eduardo Boido who all share the particularities of their terroir and wine story.
The episode is also enriched by commentary from the presenter at the London masterclasses, wine writer and author of The South America Wine Guide, Amanda Barnes, who describes what is happening in the wine scene of Uruguay today. In addition, the episode includes reflections from specialised press who attended the tasting including Editor of Harpers magazine, Andrew Catchpole; Decanter contributor and Master of Wine, Sarah Jane Evans; and wine writer and author, Margaret Rand.
