Families in Wine: Pizzorno

The Pizzorno family is one of the great success stories of a family winery in Uruguay. Carlos Pizzorno is a third-generation winemaker who guided his family winery from table wine production to fine wine production in the 1990s. Today his wife, Ana Laura, and children, Francisco and María Clara, are also part of the thriving family winery in Canelones.

Not only do the Pizzorno family make a host of innovative wines which have wide international appeal, but Francisco has started a successful wine tourism business too. With a handsome hotel, restaurant and immersive wine tours, visiting the Pizzorno family winery is one of the highlights on the Canelones wine route.
