The Deicas family has one of Uruguay's leading wineries, Familia Deicas, which is renowned for its innovative winemaking techniques as well as pioneering new wine regions around the country. Behind the winery are three generations of the Deicas family. Each family member plays their own role in the development of the family business - from viticulture and winemaking to tourism and gastronomy. 

The family's wine history starts with Juan Carlos Deicas in 1979 when he purchased the historic Juanico estate, and continues with Fernando Deicas who established their premium Familia Deicas winery and brand. Today winemaking continues in the hands of third-generation vigneron Santiago Deicas, while his sister Mercedes heads up the kitchen at their popular restaurant in Canelones.
