On May 4, an event was held by the prominent American magazine Wine Enthusiast on South American wines, with the participation of Chile, Uruguay and Argentina. The main objective of the event was to publicize and highlight the great South American wines to the trade and consumers of New York City.

The day took place in the Georgia Room of the Freehand Hotel in New York City, beginning with a walkaround tasting and Masterclass given by editor Jesica Vargas, aimed at trade.

The day closed in the afternoon where about 150 consumers bought the ticket to taste the participating wines. The evening was crowned off by live Latin American music.

The Uruguayan wineries that were present on this occasion were El Capricho, Alto de la Ballena, Familia Deicas, Viña Progreso, Bouza, Marichal, Cerro Chapeu, Montes Toscanini and Vermut Flores.

From 1988 to the present, Wine Enthusiast magazine went from being a simple American magazine to becoming a media brand dedicated to wines and beverages in general. With an audience of 4.1 million, today it is one of the most influential wine media.
